Glitch Sixth Vision Bonehead Black Death
Greetings fellow toy buddies, and Happy Eid Mubarak to all who celebrate it!
After a long vaccum I’m back with another review here and this is the first one sixth scale (12 inches) action figure I reviewed in my blog. The figure came from a relatively new company called Glitch. The series is called Sixth Vision which also included the God Complex line and the figure itself is called Black Death from the Bonehead line. I just found out that this figure is designed by a fellow Indonesian.
Okay, now let’s take a look at the boxed figure. The box is really nice and compact for a 1/6th figure box, reminds me of a 3a boxes. The design of the box is also cool, featuring the art of the included figure and some information about the toyline and the designer.
Now let me open this goodness. The packaging is somewhat 3A-ish as you can see but it worked out nice in keeping the figure and accessories safe. As you could see, the figure packed in a clamshell and came with two weapons and some interchangeable hands, and a A5 or postcard sized art.
Let’s take a closer look to the postcard, the art is really cool! I love the art!
Okay, now I’m moving to the figure itself, as you could see the hoodie is detachable, well for a one sixth scale figure, basically almost every clothing is detachable, with some efforts of course.
The t-shirt has a really cool design and it has a inner long sleeve gray t-shirt under it. The body has good proportion in all part but the neck, as you could spot in the picture bellow, there is kinda big gap between the neck and the head. Too bad, the gap aside in my opinion the body is perfect.
Now I put the hoodie back on, the figure looked even better. The hoodie did cover the strange gap between the neck and the head. The zipper on the hoodie worked well, you could go for zipped or unzipped look easily. The hood part also had bendable wire inside it, so you could set it to closed or open hood pose and it would still looked great! As a plus. the design of the hoodie is also awesome!
Okay, now we’re taking a closer look to the headsculpt. The Bonehead Black Death got it’s namesake for the unique helmet he’s wearing. As you can see in the picture bellow, the bonehead is well sculpted, detailed, and painted. I really love the design of this Bonehead helmet!
Now let’s compare the size with other one sixth scale figure, for this I’m using Sideshow Commander Gree which is my very first one sixth scale figure. The Bonehead Black Death is well matched with other one sixth scale figure, so you could put it in display with other one sixth scale figures without worrying about height miss-match or such.
Moving on to articulations, the articulations are really good, just like what you expected from a one sixth scale figure. Another big plus is, unlike some one sixth scale figures, the articulations are not hindered or blocked by the clothes or other parts, the figure has a really good range of motion.
The figure is also very well balanced, kinda feels like a 3A one sixth figures, you could pose it in standing position for quite a long time without using any stand to support.
Okay, now we’re moving on to the accessories. Apart from the clothes and hoodies, Glitch Sixth Vision Bonehead Black Death came with:
– 3 pairs of interchangable hands.
– 1 buster sword (It’s officialy called a mech slayer).
– 1 customized baseball bat with hidden blade.
– 1 set of spare hand joints.
– A5/postcard sized printed arts.
All the weapons are made of die cast metal and very well painted. As the buster sword, I do recommend some caution because even-though it’s made of metal, it’s kinda thin and it’s prone to break or bent if you weren’t careful.
Okay, let’s try to pose those weapons on the figures! First, the customized baseball bat. The baseball bat has very nicely detail and has a hidden blade inside it, you could pull it out by pulling the handle part of the bat slowly.
Next, my favorite, the buster sword or the mech slayer! The figure could held the mech slayer sword quite well but not perfectly, the given sword grim hands are simply not sturdy enough to hold such big sword in place for a long time, for some poses in this review, I used some tack it to help with the posing.
Okay, now this is one way to pose your Glitch Sixth Vision Bonehead Black Death for display.
Summary: (9/10) Great cool looking urban style figure with high playability!
Pros:
(+) Good material quality, paint job and details both on the figures and accessories.
(+) Great articulations and motion range, the figure is also really stable for a one sixth figure, able to do much posing without support.
(+) This is a bit subjective but the overall design of the figure is really cool.
Cons:
(-) The gap between the head and the neck is too big, it looked awkward without the hoodie.
(-) The given hands aren’t sturdy enough to hold the weapons, need some support or tack-it for better posing.
Thanks for reading my review and all your feedbacks are really appreciated.
The next review would be a first non-action figures item. Stay tuned. 😉
These are just small examples of some toy photography you could do with Glitch Sixth vision Bonehead Black Death.
Unarmed!
Come and get me!
What are you lookin’ at?
The mech slayer in action!
You better keep up!
Looks awesome. I’d love to know the fiction this guy comes from
I agree, I hope the designer would release some kind of lore or backstory soon enough.
